Ayana Johnson
Biography
Ayana Johnson is a SAG-AFTRA Eligible African-American actress who has appeared on local, regional, and national commercials, television series, Public Service Announcements, and training videos for corporations in the healthcare, education, and science industries. She works as a Standardized Patient for a medical school and travels around the country with an Interactive Theater Company that specializes in training for social change. She has worked as a stand in on season 1 of Swamp Thing (DC Universe), season 7 of Homeland (HBO), and season 1 of Outcast (Cinemax). In addition to acting, she also works behind the scenes as Producer, Production Manager, Production Assistant, Casting Director, and Location Scout. She produced the award-winning short film With You (2017), which has won Best Director and Best Short Film at the 2018 International Christian Film Festival and Best Short Film and Best Cinematography at the 2018 Great Lakes Christian Film Festival. She produced Blue Crossing, which is now airing on Revolt TV on Demand. She is a member of the Core Creative team at her church and helps produce and cast for short film projects as well as operates a Sony FS700 camera for Sunday services, which are streamed live and televised on network TV. Her other passion is service. When she's not acting, she volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, Samaritan's Purse, or serves on local or international service trips throughout North Carolina, Haiti, Kenya, Honduras, and Guatemala. Habitat is one of her passions because she loves building things. Her theory is, in addition to building houses, she gets to build community with the home owners. Her greatest joy when serving with Habitat is watching people go from being complete strangers to being great friends as they help build each other's houses over the course of 9 months. When not serving, she's most likely working on projects around the house.
